Test run January 26th 2026

The adventure is on; today we got the Golf off the trailer and back on the road. We then took a test run on SR 1-3 to check out the car as well as the stages. To make a long story short; this year’s rally is a totally different ballgame! The roads are narrower, steeper with a lot of hairpins.

SR 1 was a true reality check with quite some snow/ice/slush and got us on our toes.

SR 2 was even tougher with variable surfaces and many hairpins.

SR 3 however, is a monster; roads are so tricky, curvy, and slippery. Add a rather high average speed and it becomes almost impossible to complete up to standard on wet/slippery surface. I believe this is the toughest stage we’ve ever seen. Navigation is not the issue, it’s the speed & timing.

Having digested the shock, we took a 2^nd run – and we made it faster & sleeker this time. But still; SR 3 remains a tough one.
